It's been a few weeks since the Scrum Day Nigeria 2026, and the impact feels fresh. I have reflected on the sessions and watched the speakers' recordings on the Agile University channel. conversations, and one thing is clear: this event didn’t just build on the 2025 edition; it surpassed it in every meaningful way.

All 15 speakers brought their experience contributing diverse perspectives to the theme: Building Better Products - Sooner, Safer and Happier.

You should watch the Keynote Session by Dolapo Kuye Otegbayi, who shares how the FMCG industry approaches innovation and how costly failure can be in FMCG, drawing on her years of product launches in that industry.

The audience wasn’t let down by the afternoon Keynote by Bukola Ajayi, who took them through MTN's journey of adopting the Scrum Framework and scaling it to well over 55 squads.

The breakout sessions were complimentary, and I don't know that I have a favourable session, but the sessions cut across several themes as follows:

  • Delivering Value

  • Scrum Framework and Fundamentals:

  • AI and Impact of Delivery Process:

  • Agile Leadership

There has been some early feedback that people found the Scrum Clinic very useful, and the Panel Session on the impact of AI on product delivery.

As the convener of Scrum Day Nigeria, a few people asked me what I would like people to take away from the conference, and my response was, “If attendees took at least one idea back to their organisation, implemented these ideas, leading to building better products, then all the work it took to organise the conference would have been worth it.

I am looking forward to Scrum Day Nigeria 2027. Some ideas are knocking around in our heads, but with the Nigerian elections being held early next year, the Scrum Day Nigeria team is working to ensure we pick a date that isn't too close to the election period, so we don't have to move the conference date around.

We are actively collecting feedback from attendees to deliver a better event next year. Submit your feedback here.

Thank you for reading.
